Acknowledgment of Risk & Responsibility

• I am aware and understand that certain risks and dangers are inherent with participating in the Event. I may sustain serious injury, including but not limited to temporary or permanent disability, physical injuries, property loss and damage, paralysis, or death. Such risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions or inactions, those of other individuals participating in the Event, the condition of the Location, adverse weather conditions, or the negligence of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students' Union Wilfrid Laurier University, or their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, shareholders, successors, and assigns (the “Releasees”). I VOLUNTARILY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL RISKS, DANGERS, AND HAZARDS THAT MAY OCCUR PURSUANT TO PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT.
• I accept full responsibility for my actions for the entire duration of the event.
• I acknowledge that there are certain inherent and unavoidable risks in all activities and that I will always take reasonable steps during this event to avoid placing myself in dangerous and/or potentially hazardous situations.
• I agree to always abide by the policies, practices, and procedures of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University.
• I acknowledge that I have informed myself of the Event, either by previous participation in similar events or by inquiring about the Event from the Event Organizers, Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, or a representative of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union.
• I agree to not engage in any illicit or illegal activities during the Event;
• I acknowledge that I have read and understand each of the provisions of this Release and that I am voluntarily waiving substantial legal rights, including the right to sue the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University. 

Release of Liability

I hereby agree to waive and release any and all claims for any injury, temporary or permanent disability, death, damages, liabilities, expenses, costs, property loss, or property damage, whether such claims are founded in negligence, another tort, contractual breach, or another cause of action, (the “Claims”) and which I or my representatives, agents, successors, and assigns (the “Releasors”) have or may in the future have against the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University or the Releasees arising from my participation in the Event, a breach of any of my obligations in this Release, if I make a false or misleading representation in this Release, or the use by the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University of my personal Information in accordance with this Release. I acknowledge and agree that this Release is a complete release of any responsibility of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University and the Releasees for any Claims in relation to the above.

Indemnification

I agree, on behalf of myself and the Releasors, to indemnify, defend and hold the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University and the Releasees harmless from and against any third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, expenses, and costs arising from the my participation in the Event, any breach of my obligations in this Release, if I make false or misleading representations in this Release, and/or use by the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union and Wilfrid Laurier University of the Participant’s Personal Information in accordance with this Release.
